  66. Well Roger a number of things could be wrong ... a blown cap in the mixers
  67. a soft or almost dead driver ... a power supply problem ... soft or near
  68. dead finals ... or it just might need a damn good cleaning ... the again
  69. the alc could be screwed up too.

  141. Now that I have a window office (for at least the next couple of hours...)
  142. I can park my car (mobile HF/2M equipped) line-of-sight from my window.
  143. I can see the car fine, and the glass is about 60 degress off
  144. perpendicular from the axis of view. The glass is double paned, and the
  145. outside is somewhat mirrored, meaning quite a bit of attenuation
  146. on the inwards direction.
  147.  
  148. I would *love* to be able to operate my mobile setup from inside my office
  149. (during break time only) and I am considering either an optical or RF link. 
  150. The link would need to be ful-duplex, and have capability for both a
  151. voice band and a low-speed data band.

  165. Has anyone heard of any news about a new Kenwood all-mode VHF/UHF
  166. base station? I heard someone say that they had something in the 
  167. works that would have 4 bands (probably 2m., 220, 440, and 1.2)
  168. and would be an all-mode station. Are these rumors true, and if
  169. so, when can we expect this gem, and how much will we be spending?

  184. Has anybody succesfully connected a code key to RS-232
  185. and been able to make it work with Super Morse? 
  186. I tried connecting the key to pins 7 and 5 but didnt 
  187. get any response. The software setup shoulda been right. 
  188. I would be using it to practice for the CW- test.

  203. I have a strange problem with the call scan feature on my Kenwood 
  204. TM-732 mobile dual bander.
  205.  
  206. Actual behavior:
  207.   When in call scan mode on the 440 band, the frequency display
  208.   toggles between the output frequency of the call channel and
  209.   the *input* frequency of the memory channel.
  210.  
  211. Expected behavior:
  212.   I expect it to scan between the output frequency of the call
  213.   channel and the *output* frequency of the memory channel.
  214.  
  215. This problem only affects the 440 band.  The memory channel is
  216. not in reverse mode.  This affects all memory channels on 440,
  217. but only in call scan mode.  That is, when I quit scanning, the 
  218. memory channel shows the output frequency.
  219.  
  220. When I first started using the call channel on 440, the call scan
  221. feature worked as expected.  Then I hit the reverse button with the
  222. 440 band active while in call scan mode on the 440 band. (I thought 
  223. that the 2m band was active and I was trying to hear someone on the 
  224. input frequency of the channel on the 2m band.)  Since then, I have
  225. not been able to use the call scan feature.
  226.  
  227. What I have tried:
  228.   Duplicate the reverse-while-call-scanning trick
  229.   VFO reset
  230.   Full memory reset
  231.  
  232. The problem remains.

  234. Anyway, has anyone else seen anything like this?
